It’s a rare treat to be part of the design of a new service. We were invited to join a team building a brand new national health support service for nurses and midwives.
We listened to the team talk about the work-related health challenges being experienced by our nurses and midwives. We set about planning a website that our users would recognise was relevant to them and what they were dealing with.
We worked on a content strategy, IA, site sections and labels, defined content types, put together a style guide, and oversaw content quality and production.
A logo, identity and website look and feel, devised template types, integrated them into the CMS and taught authors how to manage and publish their content.
The result is a website that covers the right health topics, includes stories of lived experience, addresses users in the right tone and language, reflects the diverse group that are nurses and midwives, and offers users different ways to ask for the support they needed.
The service launched in April 2024 and is seeing steady traffic through the website and good numbers of participants using the clinical service.
